The sales rep navigates confidently, everything loads instantly, the dashboards look beautiful. Six months later, you discover the GPS tracking drains your operatives\u2019 phone batteries by 2pm, the reporting module can\u2019t export in the format your biggest client requires, and the \u201ceasy setup\u201d actually means three months of configuration with a paid consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The demo itself isn\u2019t the problem. The problem is what you don\u2019t ask during the demo. Can I export it in CSV, PDF, and Excel? Your facility manager clients have specific reporting requirements. If your operatives work eight-hour shifts, a platform with aggressive location polling will leave them with dead phones by mid-afternoon \u2014 which means no tracking, no proof of service, and no communication for the second half of the day. Don\u2019t accept a generic demo with generic data. Describe your specific workflow \u2014 your shift patterns, your client reporting requirements, your compliance needs \u2014 and ask the vendor to demonstrate how their platform handles it. A vendor who can\u2019t configure a realistic scenario during the demo probably can\u2019t configure it during implementation either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The real test: after the demo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The best software vendors offer a trial period with your real data, your real operatives, and your real client sites.
